VIA DELLE BOCCHETTE ALTE
The highest cabled route of Brenta Dolomites
Conceived by the great Bruno Detassis, The guardian of the Brenta, famous mountain guide and keeper for many years of Rifugio Brentei, the Via delle Bocchette Alte is one of the most famous high altitude via ferrata in the Dolomites, a great itinerary that develops in a severe and unique setting, a challenging route suitable for fit hikers only, due to several exposed stretches, the long walk and the altitude over 3000m.
From Bocca d'Armi, the route runs along Cima Molveno and reaches Spallone dei Massodi, go past the scala degli amici, a long, vertical and tiring ladder, crosses the massive Cima Brenta eastern side and descend from its north-east ridge to Bocca di Tuckett.
The hike can be accomplished in a day from a mountain hut previously reached (Rifugio Tuckett or Rifugio Alimonta), otherwise in a two or more days tour, combined with other via ferratas and overnight stays in mountain huts (for example Via delle Bocchette: Via delle Bocchette Alte + Via delle Bocchette Centrali).
